Earl William Dhume, age 82, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012 at his home.

He was born in Greenfield, Ohio, on September 28, 1929, the son of, Earl Crosby and Mildred Anna (Newlun) Dhume.

He was retired from Armco Steel of Washington C.H. after 30 years of service, was a farmer, a former Madison Township Trustee, and a 1947 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Marie (Thompson) Dhume, whom he married on December 8, 1952; one son, David Earl (Pam) Dhume of Greenfield; two daughters, Susan Kay (Mik) Dietlin of Stuarts Draft, Virginia; Barbara Jo (Chad) Haines of Sparta, Tennessee; eleven grandchildren, Joshua (Ashley) Van Dyke, Raymond (Amanda) Van Dyke, Ashley (Kevin) Bryant, Megan Haines, Bryan (Joy) Haines, Shelly Boles, Beth (Craig) Smith, Jay (Toni) Buchhammer, Aaron (Kellie) Dhume, William (Katie) Dhume, Dustin (Megan) Dhume; 27 great grandchildren; three nephews, Tom Herman, Jim Perie and Bob Perie; and one niece, Cyndi Sherbert.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Vera Perie; one niece, Patty Puckett, and both parents.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 3 at the First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield with Rev. Terry Washburn and Pastor William Dhume officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery with military rites to be provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 2 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Veterans Appreciation Service to begin at 8:00 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield Renovation Fund, 457 Jefferson Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
